Chris Clifton of T.S. Smith & Sons in Bridgeville readies their stand for the 2015 opening of the Georgetown Farmers’ Market. This year’s market opens  May 25.

The brewery grounds on South Bedford Street served as the venue for the market last year.

“We found such a fantastic partner in 16 Mile Brewery last year, and a venue that attracted a lot more customers to our vendors,” said Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Karen Duffield. “So, we’re sticking with a good thing, and more excited about the Georgetown Farmers’ Market this season than ever before!”

“The vendor list is varied and diverse this year,” says Georgetown Market Master, Christel Folke.

Some of the vendor season commitments include Evans Farm & Frozen Farmer, Woodenhawk Farms, T.S. Smith, Old World Breads, Nothing Better, Sandy Hill Greenhouses, Tout De Suite, Little Wagon Produce, Holly Berry Farm, Maebrook Farms, Point House Coffee, Reid Angus, Stag Run Farm, LJ’s Lamb, Love Byrd Soap, and Vanderwende Farm Creamery.

“Many more are also expected to just drop-in,” Ms. Folke said.

This year, market patrons can also expect to hear local musicians performing during the market, see area chefs demonstrate their culinary talents, crafters display their artistry, and of course, taste the fresh-from-the-farm products vendors will have on hand … not to mention the opportunity to “bend your elbow” with some 16 Mile craft brews.

The 2016 Georgetown Farmers’ Market will feature a Kids’ Day in July with fun activities, games and projects.

“Also, on the fourth Wednesday in June, July and August, after the farmers’ market, we’ll be going to the movies in Georgetown,” said Ms. Duffield. “We’re excited about this new feature, and will be getting more news out about it soon.”

The Georgetown Farmers’ Market will be open on Wednesdays from weekly from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., running May 25 through Aug. 31.

16 Mile Brewery is located at 413 S. Bedford Street in Georgetown.
