LEWES – Beebe Healthcare’s Department of Public Safety & Security recently announced the deployment of a new bicycle patrol.

Officers Joseph Buck and Joseph Pembroke recently completed an extensive police mountain bike training course, operated by Sgt. Patrick Foley of the Bethany Beach Police Department.

Both officers received their certification through the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA).

The bike patrol is just one of several proactive initiatives by Beebe Healthcare’s DPSS to strengthen the partnerships with the various customers it serves.

The bike patrol will allow a higher visibility of Beebe’s officers, a quicker response time to incidents, and greater patrol coverage in a shorter period of time, said Frank Molino, Beebe Healthcare’s Public Safety and Security Manager.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this service, which will greatly improve the safety and security of visitors and team members,” Mr. Molino said.
