Sussex County libraries to close Oct. 8 for Library Staff Development Day

SUSSEX COUNTY – The Sussex County public libraries will be closed Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 for the annual Sussex County Library Staff Development Day.

Staff from the 15 public libraries throughout Sussex County will meet at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown for the 25th annual conference, a daylong session to study current trends and core services. This year includes privacy, safety/security and internal/external communication.

Libraries in Sussex County strive to provide residents with first-rate library service. To support this mission, the Sussex County Department of Libraries provides continuing education and professional staff development for the four County-owned libraries and 11 independent libraries.

Concurrent sessions throughout the day will be provided by nationally-recognized library and community leaders.

Libraries will reopen at their regularly scheduled times on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015. For more information on library hours, contact your local library.
