GEORGETOWN – The Take Two Drama Club of Sussex Central High School is staging its second large production of the year this Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30.

This year, the club is promoting a new type of show called the Junior-Senior Showcase, which will feature small cast, classic American plays with outgoing seniors and talented juniors sharing the stage.

On January 29-30, the club is presenting the American classic “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams (with special permission of Dramatists Play Service).

“This showcase is an invitational,” Sussex Central Drama Instructor David Warick said. “I invited deserving and talented juniors and seniors to participate in a special and challenging project to expand their experience on stage.”

The cast of “The Glass Menagerie” includes seniors Brooke James and Jess Plitt as well as juniors Danny Keenan and Devon Lynch in a touching and often hilarious look at a dysfunctional Midwestern family in 1940.

“This is one of the very best casts I’ve ever assembled,” Mr. Warick added.  “Their acting is really magnificent.  I hope our local audience comes out and supports Take Two and these kids.”

Starting times are 7 p.m. for shows on Friday, Jan. 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30.

General Admission is $8. Middle School Students and IRSD Teachers are admitted for $5 on a two-for-one rate.

Seniors, students and military are admitted for $5. No one will be turned away for inability to pay.
