SCHS’s Take Two Drama Club presenting ‘Celebration of Black History’

GEORGETOWN – Sussex Central High School’s Two Drama Club on Wednesday, March 7 will present a “Celebration of Black History” focusing on the rich cultural heritage of the Harlem Renaissance.

Readings featuring the work of Zora Neale Hurston, James Weldon Johnson, and Langston Hughes among others will be performed by a cast of Sussex Central students, as well as the music of Duke Ellington and others.

The presentation will be staged at 6 p.m. at the Centre for Visual and Performing Arts at Sussex Central High School, located at 26026 Patriots Way, Georgetown.

Admission is free; donations will be gratefully accepted in support of future Take Two/SCHS educational and dramatic events.

Concessions and drinks will be available at separate cost.

The Take Two Drama Club is an independent non-profit club and drama boosters organization, 501c status pending which supports production of plays and musicals for the students of Sussex Central High School and the surrounding communities.

All ticket proceeds go directly back into production of future shows and supporting the students of Sussex Central in studying and creating theatre.

Little Shop of Horrors

This weekend, Take Two Drama Club presents Little Shop of Horrors.

Show times at 7 p.m. Friday, March 2 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students, seniors and military (no one will be turned away for inability to pay). Box office opens at 6 p.m. for 7 p.m. shows and 1 p.m. for Sunday’s matinee.
