Possum Players set auditions for Christmas show ‘Fruitcakes’

GEORGETOWN – Possum Point Players have scheduled auditions for the holiday comedy ‘Fruitcakes’ on Sunday, Sept. 10, Tuesday, Sept. 12, and Wednesday, Sept.13.

All auditions are at 6:30 p.m. in Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Rd; Georgetown.  The play is written by Julian Wiles and directed by John H. Hulse.

The cast requires four men and four women, ages range from 30s to 80s. The cast also requires six boys, and eight girls (strictly ages 7 and up). Specific character descriptions and ages are listed in the audition notice on possumpointplayers.org. All cast members must be available for all show dates, which are December 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, and 10.

Auditions are open to all, no prior experience required. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.

Some members of the cast will sing Christmas carols. Those auditioning who also wish to sing, should bring a prepared, short familiar Christmas carol to sing, but singing is not a requirement for any part. Sheet music or CD accompaniment is preferred, but acapella auditions will also be permitted.

Those needing more information, or unable to attend an audition, but interested in auditioning or being part of the production crew, should contact John H. Hulse at 302-245-4147.

‘Fruitcakes’ is presented through special arrangements with Dramatic Publishing.

Possum Point Players is supported, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
