MILLSBORO – A Sussex County woman next week will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in the television spotlight on the Daytime Emmy Award-winning game show, Let’s Make A Deal.

Cassandra Winebrake from Millsboro will join show host Wayne Brady as a featured “trader” with hopes of avoiding “zonks” and winning a selection of sensational prizes.

The episode showcasing Ms. Winebrake will air Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m.

The episode was taped Aug. 18 at studios in Van Nuys, California.

Ms. Winebrake, a server at Irish Eyes in Milton who is attending Delaware Technical Community College for graphic design, said she happened upon this by stroke of luck.

“Me and my best friend (Dayana Monge Zamora) went out there for a trip and realized they did the taping there for the show, so we thought why not try it out,” said Ms. Winebrake. “She was in the audience as a lion.”

Ms. Winebrake was costumed as a sumo wrestler for the show.

Show policy encourages contestants to not share information on the outcome of taped episodes until after they air.

So, tune in on Jan. 9!

Let’s Make a Deal originated in the United States in 1963, produced by Stephan Hatos and Monty Hall, who for many years served as the show’s host.
