Itinerary set for Georgetown’s Back to the Future celebration

With plans for a gala celebration, Georgetown is gearing up Oct. 21, 2015 – the day Back to the Future fans have been waiting for for several decades.

GEORGETOWN – The schedule is out for Georgetown’s celebration of Back to the Future Day tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The event – part of the worldwide celebration of the day movie fans have been waiting for since the release of the second film in the iconic movie trilogy – will feature a DeLorean time machine.

Following is the Back to the Future itinerary provided by the Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce:

4:30 p.m.- people will start congregating (In front of Sussex County Courthouse)

4:30 p.m.-6 p.m.- DJ Sky Brady (“Doc Brown”) spinning tunes from the BTTF soundtracks, BTTF Trivia and Costume Prizes; Save the Town Clock 50/50 sales & drawing In Front of SC Courthouse)

5:00 p.m.- Georgetown Mayor Bill West will read special proclamation changing the name of Georgetown to Hill Valley for the entire day Oct. 21, 2015

6 p.m.-8:30 p.m.- 16 Mile specialty BTTF Brew –“1.21 GiGawatt” (Old Courthouse)

6:00 p.m. -Re-Enactment Scene

6:15 p.m.- DeLorean “Time Machine” takes a few laps around The Circle/drives and parks at Old Courthouse (Citizens Bank Parking Lot)

6:30 p.m.- Red Carpet Screening of Back to the Future Part I (“Under the Stars” in the Back of Old Courthouse (Bring lawn chairs). There will be pop corn.

6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.- “Enchantment Under the Sea” (in the Old Courthouse) There will be punch and cookies.
