Greenwood library to host Arts in the Library for kick-off of Summer Reading Challenge 2018

GREENWOOD – Summer is upon us, so it’s time to hit the pool, the beach, and of course, your favorite books!

Delaware First Lady Tracey Quillen Carney will help kick-off the statewide Summer Reading Challenge at the Greenwood Library at 10:30 am Saturday, June 16. The library is located at 100 Mill Street in downtown Greenwood.

During this event, young and old alike are invited to join in a performance of “Turtle Dance Music” with musician/autism intervention specialist Matt Mazure.

The performance is co-sponsored by Autism Delaware, the Delaware Division of the Arts, and public libraries statewide.

First Lady Carney will also present an award to the 2018 winners of the statewide Teen Summer Reading Video Challenge – Libraries Rock! The winning stopmotion video was created by two Greenwood Library teens.

In addition to the performance, reading program and library card sign-ups, incentives, refreshments and other activities will round out the program for the celebration.
