Georgetown’s ‘A Holly Jolly Christmas’ Parade steps off Dec. 3

Georgetown’s 2015 Christmas Parade is set for Thursday, Dec. 3. The theme is “A Holly Jolly Christmas.”

GEORGETOWN – To “A Holly Jolly Christmas” theme, the 2015 Georgetown Christmas Parade will step off Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.

“We always hope people will have a good time decorating their entries to match the parade theme,” said 2015 Parade Chair Angela Emerson. “But this year we hope they go ‘all out’, and just like Burl Ives sang, ‘Have a holly, jolly Christmas – it’s the best time of the year. Say hello to friends you know and everyone you meet!’”

“Our Christmas Parade is an annual event that marks the beginning of the holiday season in Georgetown,” added Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karen Duffield. “The Chamber -vthanks to its VIP Partners Nanticoke Health Services, Fulton Bank, The Insurance Market, Adams Radio Group, Perdue Farms, Servpro of Sussex County, Wilmington University, NRG, Lighthouse Catering, Sussex Eye Center, County Bank, and M&T Bank – is looking forward to staging another crowd-pleasing event for the Georgetown community!”

As always, the floats, marching bands, clubs, cars and trucks, etc. will be judged in their respective categories, and could win a ribbon or an award.

All participants will be judged for “Best Theme” and overall “Best in Show.”
