CHEER’s Frontier Festival fundraiser to whip up western fun, entertainment

Shane Karson whips the rose from the mouth of his brave wife Julie during a skills performance at the 2017 Frontier Festival. Looking on is their son Clay Karson.

GEORGETOWN – CHEER, Inc. is traveling back to the days of the Wild West with the second annual Frontier Festival: A 50+ Healthy Living Expo in late September.

Piggybacking off a successful debut in 2017, this year’s event is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CHEER Community Center on Sand Hill Road.

It’s a rain or shine event, which will benefit CHEER’s Cooking for Sussex Seniors capital campaign.

To an Old West theme, there will be carriage rides, guitar music, a ventriloquist, western-style fun and entertaining activities, health vendors and other attractions.

Back by popular demand to whip up eye-opening entertainment with their amazing old west gun-slinging, whip and roping skills is the Karson Family – Shane, Julie and son Clay – from Frontier Town in Berlin, MD.

Admission to Frontier Festival is free.

Lunch is available by ticket only for the first 500 pre-registered attendees. It is free to all pre-registered CHEER members and $5 for all others.

For tickets, contact a CHEER activity center.
