Budding musicians to take stage in Senior/Junior Honors Band concert

SEAFORD – Some of Sussex County’s brightest, budding musicians will take center stage this Thursday night during the 61st annual Senior/Junior Honors Band concert.

The Feb. 25 concert will be held at Seaford High School in the auditorium. It will start at 7 p.m.

The concert will feature 120 students in grades seven through 12 from all eight school districts in Sussex County.

Students audition for placement in both bands, representing a select ensemble of talent that spans strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.

This year’s performances will be led by guest conductors Adam Brennan of Mansfield University (Senior Band) and A. Scott Kiehner of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District in Pennsylvania (Junior Band).

The concert is open to the general public.

TICKETS: Concert tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for K-12 students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
